Trippy Baubles

Reminiscent of festive Christmas tree baubles while tripping on acid at the family get together, this generative and animated piece creates shapes based on the standard Penner easing equations. Usually these equations are used to add a real-world feel to objects in motion. Here are they used to create symmetrical patterns, overlayed with each other in a circular world.

For each token, colours, number of shapes, starting positions, rates of movement and mathematical equation are generated, resulting in unique generative patterns for each minted item.

Will you get “Space” with “easeInOutBounce” with 1 bauble and 6 waves? Or “70s Flares”, “easeInElastic” with 8 baubles and 3 waves? Or even “Striptease Neon”, “easeOutBack” with 5 baubles and 8 waves? … Who knows?
