Zhu(竹):

"Zhu" is a series of 100 oriental abstract pieces featuring the imagery of bamboo, a symbol of integrity and strength in traditional Chinese culture.

Zhu's generative system is an exploration of this cultural symbol by modern art language. Elements of the paintings are merely circles, enclosed flow field shapes, and the blank space behind these visual objects. Blank-leaving is intentionally applied at various degrees throughout the series. The vast empty space beyond the plants is open to and embraces every kind of interpretation.

Zhu's outputs span hours of the day from dawn to dusk to night. Its color schemes explored four styles from traditional to modern. The simple yet complex senses and feelings reflected are surprisingly versatile.
