A depiction of Urban Sprawl, of unchecked growth of a vast city, overlaid by a miasma of photo-chemical smog.

The city's growth is guided by a nonlinear cellular automata, from out of order comes chaos.

[the program takes a while for details to appear, while it is drawing the background. once the cellular automata begins its travails, it takes a 100 or so iterations to settle down. Once stasis is reached it is safe to take a screenshot (right-click and save the 3000x3000pixel canvas)]
