There is a place in 🅗🅞🅝🅖 🅚🅞🅝🅖 full of mystery, where the scents of spices and tiger balm intermingle in a labyrinth of stairs.

🅒🅗🅤🅝🅖🅚🅘🅝🅖 🅜🅐🅝🅢🅘🅞🅝🅢 was built in 1961. The unusual atmosphere of the building complex features guesthouses, curry restaurants, African bistros, clothing shops, sari stores, and foreign exchange offices. It acts as a large gathering place for ethnic minorities in Hong Kong, particularly South Asians, Middle Eastern people and Nigerians.

It is a warm and frightening place that fascinates travellers and an emblematic place of the Hong Kong cinema scene of the 90s. The film Chungking Express by 🅦🅞🅝🅖 🅚🅐🅡 🅦🅐🅘 released in 1994 takes place in the building and tells the stories of two lovesick Hong Kong policeman mulling over their relationship with women.

This series, thought as a tribute to the mystical atmosphere born from the artistic spirit of Wong Kar Wai, brings together a series of glitched drawings of the the dreamy characters of the movie.
