"Circle of vast space, lacking nothing and holding nothing in excess"
Jianzhi Sengcan

Ensō (circle) is a sacred symbol in the Zen school of thought.
It is often used to represent the universe, the infinite and the void.
In meditation, an ensō represents the perfect meditative state in which your mind is detached from all and in connection with the wholeness.
Creation of an Ensō symbolizes the precise moment when the mind is free to simply let the spirit create through the physical body.
This piece is a homage to the abstract painter Jose María Yturralde who started a painting series in 2015 with the same name.
