Watercolour on Julia

Maths Town85/85

“Water Colour on Julia” is the first generative art piece published on the Tezos by fractal artist Maths Town.

A Julia Set is first chosen from either the traditional second power Julia Set or a higher power. The four different powers, the second, third, fourth and fifth, appear with equal probability. The power of the Julia Set will decide its rotational symmetry. A second power Set will be two-way symmetrical, a fifth power set will have five-way symmetry.

The background is formed from the hash with a noise algorithm to produce a dark cloud like texture. For the inside a multi-stage noise algorithm is used to produce a watercolour texture. Lighting is then calculated for each part image to emboss the image, lifting it from the page.

The algorithm is specifically designed to produce rare ‘dark images’ on occasion, which are Julia Sets that would be found just outside their corresponding Mandelbrot images. The Julia Set selection algorithm is also designed to find the more interesting Julia images.

This page has been generated using fx_hash public API https://api.fxhash.xyz/graphql/, to display an overview of a creator's collection from www.fxhash.xyz. The computation of "rarity" is not the official computation and therefore can differ. Dev by @zancan.
