brushstrokes

Chris Randall99/99

An homage to my favorite abstract expressionist, Franz Kline. I never really "got" Kline, if I'm being honest, but one day about ten years ago, I walked in the MoCA in Los Angeles, and right inside the front door was Kline's "Butress," and it stopped me dead in my tracks. I stood there and stared at it for probably half an hour, and if I'm being honest, it broke my brain a little bit.

I have, since then, occasionally attempted to recreate the "feel" of Kline works in code; since they are more a physical recording of a dance than an intentional painting, this is both very difficult and quite simple. "Brushstrokes" is my latest attempt at dance recording in p5.js.
