#2023Streams

#2023Streams is a color theory study that explores the use of algorithmically-generated color palettes and the juxtaposition of color harmonies keyed on a common hue. It brings playfulness to experimentation through the use of randomized features that control lighting, color assortment, and more, to create interesting, vibrant compositions.

I consider this piece—my generative "genesis"—to be a preliminary "sketch" whose desired outcomes are insights into color and light that might be applied to more advanced projects in the future.

This piece is also a first step for me, into the world of professional art. An art school dropout and software engineer by profession, I've been hacking on generative art projects, games, and interactive experiences for more than two decades. But now, in 2023, it's my time to focus and prioritize art and creativity.

Each image can be modified using the following keyboard commands:
- [d] Download the rendered image
- [j] Toggle between "jungle" (dimensional) and "jazz" (flat) modes
- [l] Toggle between light and dark backgrounds
- [e] Toggle between curved (ellipse) and flat (rectangle) shapes
- [s] Enable/disable shadows and highlights
- [t] Enable/disable transparency

Each image is rendered at 2400 x 2400 pixels by default. This should be suitable for an 8" x 8" output (at 300 dpi). Should you desire a higher resolution output, the image can be magnified up to 6x by clicking the "open ↗️" link and appending a density parameter to the URL, e.g. `&density=4`

What does this license mean? It means I invite you to have fun with your new piece, get creative and bring something new into the world.

I hope you enjoy these outputs as much as I do. Thank you for stopping by—and hopefully collecting.
