Sugar Skulls

Mark Cotton350/350

Sugar Skulls are confectionery creations traditionally made with cane sugar and decorated as part of the Mexican celebration of Day of the Dead, or Día de Muertos and All Souls Day on the first and second days of November when the dead are remembered and honored.

So, why are they showing up here at Christmas? Well, why not?!? Christmas is a great time to enjoy a free, sweet treat while remembering those loved ones we’ve spent past Christmases with who are no longer with us.

While most images here are of traditional sugar skulls, some lucky ones are accessorized with Santa Claus or Elf hats.

Minting is free for as long as the project remains open. The creator may elect to close the project at any time. There is absolutely no utility promised or implied beyond the nifty artwork itself. Created for Christmas 2022.

Merry Christmas!
