Maybe it's inspired by the marks left by coffee cups in my notebook. Maybe the doodles in that same notebook, often squares and circles, somehow influenced this work. Maybe the Bridget Riley book sitting on the shelf above gently whispered to me when I wasn't looking. Or maybe I just played with an idea and found it pleasing. The only thing I'm certain of – it was definitely a Tuesday.
