A jazz musician Oliver Nelson released the album The Blues and the Abstract Truth in 1961. It is considered one of the most significant records of its time. In addition, he wrote Patterns for Improvisation, a hugely popular jazz patterns book. The Moiré pattern design is on the book's cover.
