Plant remains

Palancus24/24

Black and white photography, from film to digital to constrained and dithered greys palette 2500x2500 pixels.

Layered tonalities from six film scans piling randomly.

Pics made in the south of France : the mountains above Grasse for the thistles and around the lake of St Cassien when it was very low, showing the old stumps usually hidden under the water.

Those stumps are remains of the nature before the lake was created in the 60's.
Sometimes when the lake is very low i take some time to shoot what's hidden under the surface.

The thistles are all dead in the pics (autumn), in some you can see the seeds preparing a new start for the following season.

Rare types of colors can show up in the last translucent layer to honor old analog photography : Cyanotype (1/5), Vandyke (1/10), Virage (1/10)

Some results can be strange but that's the point of random exploration. Feel free to try variations before minting ;-)

If you want to print the image please upscale without interpolation to preserve the dithering.

Previous collectors have a reserved mint for a few days after release.

Big thanks to @PureSpider for his useful template.
